ANCs) 2F and 2B, the Logan Circle Community Association (LCCA) and the Dupont Circle Citizens Association (DCCA) team up to sponsor monthly joint meetings on education. We understand that ward, ANC, neighborhood association, school and other boundaries overlap and interconnect, so we are extending a broad invitation to join our conversations. These meetings are held on Saturday mornings to allow greater participation by families and others who may not be able to attend weeknight meetings. We begin the meeting with community updates, a discussion of education issues, policies and initiatives. Meetings will consist of a 20 – 30 minute update on community news, followed by discussion of education and schools. Our goal is to provide a forum for a community-level discussion about education, to generate ideas for how we might improve schools and provide input to our elected representatives on the ANCs and to the neighborhood association boards.
Our next meeting will be held next Saturday, June 15th at Luther Place at 10am. We are pleased to have as our guest Ward 2 City Council Member Jack Evans, chair of the Finance Committee and a mayoral candidate. There will be coffee and a light breakfast. Come out and meet your elected representatives, learn about issues that impact your community and get to know your fellow families and neighbors better. Kids are welcome! LCCA provides free childcare in the church nursery — right next door to our meeting room.
Hope to see you Saturday, June 15th!
