At the ANC 2F ABRA Policy Committee’s (APC) upcoming meeting on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 (7pm at N Street Village – 1333 N St, NW, 2nd floor Multipurpose Room), the Committee members will vote on and adopt modifications to the template Settlement Agreement (SA) used by ANC 2F when negotiating with an ABC licensee.

What is a Settlement Agreement (SA)?
A Settlement Agreement (formerly known as a voluntary agreement) is a binding contract reached between an ABC licensee and a protestant to the license (often an ANC or another community group). The purpose of the SA is to address community concerns regarding an applicant’s proposed or current operations and to avoid any potential problems that could occur after issuance of an alcoholic beverage license. The finalized SA becomes a part of the ABC license and provides guidance to licensees regarding how the terms of their licenses are enforced, in particular, after a court order.
