Commissioner 2F05: Christopher Dyer

Christopher Dyer is the ANC Commissioner for SMD 2F05 covering Thomas Circle where he has lived for over 20 years. Dyer previously served as ANC Commissioner from 2005-2009 and is excited to return to this role. Professionally, Chris is the Community Engagement Manager for the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) where he works with community stakeholders to improve civic engagement for the agency.
Prior to this role, Dyer administered the Private Security camera rebate program and served as the Director of the Office of GLBT Affairs, for the District of Columbia Government under Mayor Adrian Fenty. In addition to government service, Dyer has performed member engagement, program evaluation and communications for a variety of non-profit organizations including the American Lung Association, the American Bar Association, the Association of American Colleges and Universities, the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing and the Software Information and Industry Association.
In 2013, Dyer co-founded the Wanda Alston Foundation which was the first agency to provide transitional housing for LGBTQ youth. In 1997, Dyer founded the Youth Pride Alliance, a 501(c)3 organization that sponsors an annual Youth Pride event for GLBTQ youth and their supporters. Dyer has been recognized with a number of awards from organizations like Capital Pride, the Gay and Lesbian Activist Alliance, Whitman Walker Health and the District of Columbia Government.
An avid Capitals hockey fan, Dyer live s in Thomas Circle with his husband.
